Workers4Workers Action Center encourages everyone to Think Smart & Plan Ahead.  We all hoped our jobs would always be safe but it’s a good idea to have an alternative plan ready and know what you would like to do now that we are facing permanent job loss.  There are many opportunities available to laid off workers within the community that many are not aware of.  Laid off employees have the opportunity to be re-trained through Second Career Strategy or through Skills Development.  Many people in the community do not have a Grade 12 diploma which is required by most employers today.  Getting a Grade 12 diploma has never been easier and there are many ways that you can accomplish this goal.   We have put together a bulletin board to help laid off employees looking for information on alternative career direction, how to get your Grade 12 diploma and information on local resource centers available within the community.  Your action centre is prepared to help you make an informed decision about what would be the best path for you to take now that you have lost your job. Workers4Workers Action Centre is experienced with helping laid off members research career opportunities and go through the process of the re-training applicaion.  We believe our members deserve a complete and total support system when making an important decision about alternative employment or re-training.  Workers4Workers Action Centre offers many services to our members to take advatage of.
